Longest passage was a trip to Isla Angel De Guardia, which was over 200nm round trip. 2002-2003 I've been sailing out of San Carlos and have crossed over to the baja a couple of times. I'm also a member of the Tucson Model Yacht club and frequently place first in races at Saguarita lake. I've had limited experience sailing lasers and hobies. I'm an easy going guy and love to cruise and race. 35 years old. Willing to share expenses.

Have sailed and competed with Prams, Lasers, Lidos, Thistles, International 505's, J-boats, Y-boats, Finns, and numerous big boats. Have participated in (and won a few) races and/or recreationally sailed in most major bodies of water from San Diego to Vacouver BC. I have personally chartered large sailboats of various descriptions in numerous locations. I am, or rather was, a red cross certified sailing instructor. I'm interested in both racing and cruising. Participated in many San Carlos races on a variety of boats and have generally been competitive. Have cruised my own boat (Mao Ta 36). Overall, I don't yell and am calm - prefer sail adjusting/trimming to driving on other peoples boats and as tactician giving the skipper options and input. Spent a short period of time on the Chesapeake Bay area, mainly sailing the coastal waters on a Dufour 40. I currently liveaboard a Vagabond 47 Bluewater Ketch and sail the coastal waters of Southern California. I have passed all of the exams for the USCG 100 ton masters license but need more sea time. Off soundings sailing from Ven. to St. Maarten, Naussa to Norfolk on a friends HC 33. Currently own S2 28' (Lake Erie). Recently coached North Coast Womens Sailing Assoc. team on Mirage 33.8. We are  seeking crew to sail an Olson 40 from Hawaii to California.
if you are interested in crewing the dates will be from August 8, 2008 to Aug 28, 2008. 
You will need to meet the following requierments:
Submits a sailing resume		
Has experience sailing 50 or miles offshore		
Has experience sailing at night 		
Has a certain level of comfort in handling 30 to 40 foot boats in open 
ocean conditions with winds in the 15 to 25 kts range
Is compatible with other crew members		
Is comfortable with the sailing style of skipper and crew
Can devote the time needed to participate		
Must agree to get the Safety At Sea Certification	
Be willing to get CPR and basic First Aid Certification	
Be able to cover his or her expeses. Estimated $1500	
(airfare, meals, safety gear)	
Meets in person with owner		
Must participate in a minimum of two weekend sails California.
